The title of the installation, The Gate of No Return, also rings out as a metaphor of this saga in the lands of impoverishment and violence from which the artist, as a human being, could not return unchanged. With his theatre for the ear, he invites us to a macroscopic, sensitive and critical view of a reality that is sometimes complaisantly concealed.

Being Born and Surviving, visuals of this year’s Festival d’Avignon are ome of the photos that make up the Series A Look and Mutations done between 2008 and 2012 by Kiripi Satembo Siku. He does organic portraits of the permanent theatre offered by Kinshasa and Brazzaville, revealing in them a specific plastic beauty, notably in the establishment of a society that itself organizes its milieu. The idea here is to open a window of a realistic world on a surrealistic world.
